I joined Redkite in 2017 following an established career in Human Resources of around 17 years, providing HR advice and support within in-house HR roles. Most recently I worked as the UK HR Manager for a global oil and gas company, working at both an operational and strategic level. Before that, I worked within a Regional HR role for BUPA Care Services through which I supported Senior Management with all HR and people related matters whilst also being the HR contact at strategy meetings with the Local Authority and Adult Protection.
Through this experience, I have acquired a depth of knowledge from working within the industry, which has furnished me with first-hand experience of being at the forefront of high risk and often complex cases.
Since working in-house within HR, I have chosen to pursue a career in the legal sector and completed the Legal Practice Course. I am now a qualified Solicitor within the employment team and I advise on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. This work includes drafting legal documents such as contracts of employment, director service agreements and settlement agreements; and providing advice on issues such as redundancy and restructuring plans, TUPE, disciplinary and grievance, unfair dismissal claims including discrimination and absence and performance management.
I am a member of the Employment Lawyer Association and I have CIPD Chartered membership and I am qualified to CIPD Advanced Level 7.
When I am not at work, my favourite past times include spending time with my family and being outdoors, particularly if there’s live music involved! I am local to the area and a fluent Welsh speaker.
