General Operations Manager

Based across all 14 offices, a new opportunity has arisen for a General Operations Manager to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves operations management of all our admin and facilities support staff.

Purpose of the role:

To lead and manage the teams responsible for providing a safe, pleasant and efficient office environment for colleagues and clients. To manage the teams general administrative support, reception duties, office set up (including IT equipment) and facilities management.


  1. Management of working environments across the business.
    1. Including ensuring compliance with regulations (fire safety, electrical hard wiring and asbestos).
    2. Ensuring offices are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and are kept tidy.
    3. Ensuring work stations have complete and functioning IT equipment.
    4. Assisting with the on-boarding process for new starters.
  1. Administration and post teams
    1. Management of a dispersed administration workforce (manages file opening, printing, scanning, file closing, stationary ordering).
    2. Management of centralised post team (responsible for scanning all incoming post, safe handling of original documents and allocation of post on the case management (IT) system.
  1. Front of House
    1. Management of receptionists across 14 branch network (dealing with F2F reception duties and inbound telephony).
    2. Meeting room bookings.
    3. Presentation of client facing areas.
    4. Hospitality for key client meetings.
  1. Facilities – Larger Projects
    1. Management of the facilities managers to ensure scheduled capital projects are delivered on time and to budget with minimal disruption to the business.
    2. Review proposals for significant reactive works including sign off of expenditure, quotes and minimise disruption and inconvenience to the business.
    3. Ensuring correct permissions (including listed building consent, planning consent, advertising consent and building regulations sign off) are obtained where appropriate.

Person Specification:

  • Highly organised and punctual approach.
  • Experience in management and general operations.
  • Knowledgeable with health and safety requirements.
  • Clean driving licence – This role will involve travelling across all 14 offices on a regular basis.
