Part Qualified Accountant/Business Partner

Location: Carmarthen OfficeSwansea Office

Report to: Finance Director
Location: The role is primarily home based with travel to the Carmarthen and/or Swansea offices on an ad-hoc basis

A new and exciting role has arisen for a part qualified Accountant with the opportunity of a study support package. This role will suit an ambitious, proactive individual who will lead on the production off monthly management accounts and provide effective business partnering to the business.

Key duties:

  • Carry out month end reconciliations and P&L reviews.
  • Produce the month end management pack.
  • Produce, submit and pay VAT returns.
  • Update and comment on the weekly cashflow forecast.
  • Assist the Finance Director in preparing yearly budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare rolling quarterly forecasts
  • Effectively business partner budget holders and fee earners across the business
  • Run and distribute regular and ad-hoc management reports.
  • Assist with the yearly SRA audit and accounts prep work.
  • Work alongside the BI Manager to implement new reports and automating processes.
  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of the job.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a finance role with preferred experience or knowledge of management accounting.
  • Previous experience in a business with WIP or contract management would be beneficial
  • Good IT skills in particular Excel and Outlook.
  • Highly numerate and quick to learn.
  • A clear focus on high quality.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work within deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Professionalism and courtesy with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Team work.
  • Self-management, problem solving and initiative.
  • To behave according to the values of the Firm.
  • Knowledge of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and SOS software an advantage though not essential as training will be given.
