Andrew Atkinson

Partner

Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in personal injury litigation. Called to the Bar in 2004, he cross-qualified as a solicitor in 2011. During this time, he acted for a number of major insurers, including AXA, Aviva and NFU Mutual, defending a wide range of personal injury claims brought against their policyholders.

For the past 15 years, Andrew has acted exclusively for injured individuals, securing substantial settlements for clients whose lives have been significantly affected by catastrophic injury. He has particular expertise in complex chronic pain claims, including cases involving Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Fibromyalgia, where issues surrounding diagnosis, causation and prognosis are often strongly contested.

Andrew is committed to achieving not only the best possible financial outcome for his clients, but also ensuring they have access to the rehabilitation and support they need at the earliest opportunity. He strongly believes in working collaboratively with defendant insurers and regularly secures interim payments to fund treatment, care, adaptations, suitable accommodation and specialist support designed to maximise independence and quality of life.

Known for his meticulous approach and empathetic client care, Andrew tailors his advice and litigation strategy to the individual needs and priorities of each client, whether that means pursuing an early resolution or building a robust evidential case to protect long-term financial security.

Clients and professional referrers value Andrew’s calm, measured and approachable manner, particularly in cases involving vulnerable clients and sensitive medical issues. His combination of technical expertise, sound judgment and practical, client-focused advice has established him as a trusted and respected solicitor in the field of serious injury litigation.

Outside of work Andrew enjoys cycling and getting his fingers dirty in the garden. Any other spare time is spent poolside watching his two daughters swim and compete for a local club.
