Dominic Cavill

Dominic qualified as a Costs Lawyer in 2017, before joining a newly formed South West costs firm in 2018 and helping it grow from gaining its first client to becoming a successful costs firm servicing loyal clients across the United Kingdom. Dominic joined Redkite as a Partner in 2025 to head the Costs Department.

I have over 15 years of experience in costs and as head of the Costs Department, I am growing a team capable of providing a full costs service across the firm.

Over the course of my career in costs, I have regularly advised on high value and complex costs matters, specialising in all forms of personal injury and medical negligence, as well as extensive knowledge in other areas of costs litigation.

I am very experienced in preparing detailed Bills of Costs and complex Precedent H Costs Budgets. I also have extensive experience negotiating with paying parties and regularly advocate in Court on costs matters, and I enjoy identifying ways to streamline internal processes and maximising costs recoveries for the firm.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my young family, reading about history, travelling and experiencing new cultures, as well as running the occasional 10K.
