Emily Wales

I am an Associate Solicitor in the family department and the Deputy Regional Lead for our Bridgend and Porthcawl offices.

I have experience in a range of family matters, including private and public law children, domestic abuse and divorce and finance.

I carry out advocacy at different stages of a case and have appeared before Legal Advisors, District Judges and Circuit Judges.

The knowledge and insight that I have acquired over the years assists to sensitively help clients during their times of need.I appreciate that it is often daunting and nerve racking to instruct a solicitor, but I have been told that my friendly and approachable manner instils confidence in clients, that I will focus on their individual needs in order to achieve a positive outcome.I tailor my advice depending on the client’s requirements and will provide a pragmatic approach, often described as “firm but fair”.

I have experience in representing clients as Applicants or Respondents and have dealt with various complex cases to include allegations of domestic, sexual, emotional and financial abuse.

I am a member of Resolution, an organisation that promotes a constructive approach to family issues.I am committee member for Young Professionals Resolution and take charge of our membership representation.

In August 2025, I was appointed as a Trustee for the Bridgend Children Contact Centre.This is a charity that I have worked closely with for a number of years and provides support and services for families who are experiencing child contact issues.

Outside of work I take pleasure in spending as much time as I can socialising with my friends and family.I have a young springer spaniel who also keeps me occupied.
