Leanne Tremain

I began working for Lowless & Lowless, a predecessor firm of Redkite Solicitors, in 2005 and in 2008 was awarded a training contract with the firm.

I qualified as a Solicitor in December 2009 and am currently a Partner with over a decade’s experience dealing with Private Client work.

My daily routine includes drafting Wills for new clients and revising the Wills of long established clients, advising and assisting clients with preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney, and dealing with Estate administration after a persons’ death.

I have a wealth of experience in advising clients on lifetime planning to include the movement of ownership of assets to the next generation, and Inheritance Tax planning on potential tax paying estates, including the availability of Inheritance Tax nil rate band, reliefs and exemptions. I also deal with Probate matters ranging from small estates to larger, high value, complex estates which have a net value in excess of a million pounds.

I am currently an Associate member of STEP having successfully completed two modules, and am on target to become a fully accredited member in 2019. I am also a Member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers .

I thoroughly enjoy working in this area of Law. Some people may consider my job as morbid with negative connotations but in fact it is fast moving and energetic with no two days being the same.

I love dealing with clients from all walks of life, from office based appointments to discuss a straightforward will, to attending a client at a nursing home to discuss the importance of preparing a Lasting Power of Attorney and assessing capacity.

I often get emergency calls to attend seriously ill clients in hospital who want to prepare urgent wills; this can be upsetting, much the same as when I attend clients after they have lost a loved one to talk them through the probate process. I understand how important it is to provide support and comfort to my clients and their families during these difficult times and this is one of the reasons why I am passionate about my role and position.

One of the most satisfying parts of my job is meeting and getting to know my clients and their families, some of whom are new and some of whom have been clients of the firm for years. In some cases my clients’ families have been with Redkite or one of its predecessor firms for many generations.

During my spare time I enjoy exercising, relaxing and socialising with family and friends. I have a keen interest in travel and have visited several countries within Europe, America and the Indian Ocean. I also very much enjoy taking part in charitable events and supporting local charities.

Leanne was unfailingly efficient, helpful and supportive throughout this long and complex probate case. Many thanks.
