Simon Hawkins

I am an associate solicitor in the Family Department here at Redkite.

I am based within the Dursley office but I can meet with clients in all the Redkite offices in the Gloucestershire area.

I have extensive experience in assisting and advising clients on a wide range of Family law matters.I provide advice and support for those wanting assistance with issues such as cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements, divorce and separation, resolving financial matters and arrangements for children arising from the breakdown of a relationship.

I recognise that the breakdown of a relationship can be an extremely difficult time for all involved and strive to provide practical, clear advice and solutions in a friendly and empathetic way.I believe in working amicably as this leads to less stress, less legal cost and a more productive outcome for the client.

I am also a family mediator.Family mediation offers separating couples the opportunity to resolve financial or child disputes following a breakdown in relationship in a constructive, informal but safe setting.It can often be quicker and more efficient than proceeding to court.

I am also a member of Resolution.

I was originally from Horsham in West Sussex and moved to Bristol in 2004 to attend study law at the University of the West of England.After studying for my law degree and LPC I qualified in 2008 and enter the legal world practising in civil litigation before moving into family law in 2017.I initially qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive before becoming a solicitor.

Outside of work I am kept busy by my family.I have a wife and two young boys.My boys both attend local schools and enjoy participating in a wide variety of clubs from cubs and scouts to cricket, athletics and football, which keeps me on the go.In my spare time I also enjoy going for a bike ride and gardening.
