Red Kite Law attracts top talent
26 August 2014
Red Kite Law is going from strength to strength as the partners implement the new strategy announced earlier this year. As the leading local firm in West Wales, the partners aimed to invest in improved management and are delighted to announce two significant new recruits: Neil Walker and Simon Campbell-Davies.
Neil has joined from Cooperative Legal Services – one of the big brands tipped to revolutionise the way that people buy legal advice. He is now Red Kite Law’s chief operating officer and finance director. Simon is the new head of marketing and business development and joins the firm from Hugh James in Cardiff.
Red Kite Law partner David Sangster said he was delighted to welcome Neil and Simon to the firm.
“We are a go-ahead legal firm operating in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and now further afield in Chepstow, Monmouthshire.
“We have a strong local brand, a fantastic team of solicitors and long-lasting relationships with our clients who like us because we are local, we are good lawyers and we do a great job for them.
“As we grow, we aim to attract the very best people. Neil and Simon are certainly that, bringing with them as they do a wealth of experience combined with a “can do” attitude. We are already benefitting from having them on board and are confident that clients will love the changes they are making.”
Neil is a graduate of Manchester University and a qualified Chartered Accountant. Before joining Cooperative Legal Services, he worked in a variety of companies, from small manufacturing and technology businesses, through to large businesses such as BNFL and Capital Bank. He was Operations Director at Co-operative Legal Services when it was awarded the first Alternative Business Structure licence ever to be issued by the Solicitors Regulation Authority in April 2012.
Mr Walker said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Co-operative Legal Services, growing a successful Probate and Wills business and leading the Personal Injury business during a period of significant change as a result of legal reforms.
“When it was time to find a new challenge I was keen to remain in the legal sector and wanted to join a forward looking, innovative law firm. The combined role of Chief Operations Officer and Finance Director at Red Kite Law provides the perfect next challenge for me.”
Mr Walker lives in Monmouthshire, South Wales, with his wife and two girls. He enjoys the outdoors, including running with the Usk Running Club, cycling and walking.
Simon, a proud Welshman originally from Pontypool, is another great catch for Red Kite Law with his impressive career in sales, marketing and business development in London and Cardiff. He is Board Member for the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Wales, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketors and is a Freeman of the City of London. He is also a board member of Tai Cantref Housing Association.
Mr Campbell-Davies said: “I am absolutely delighted to have joined Red Kite, which is by far the most progressive law firm in West Wales. I look forward to working with the partners to develop the business further, building on its strong foundations, superb client service/experience, technical knowledge and expertise. My focus will be on quality not quantity and making sure that whatever we do benefits the firm’s clients.”
Mr Campbell-Davies lives near the village of Ferryside in Carmarthenshire. His interests outside of work include property development/restoration, cooking, real ale, hill walking, sword fencing and travelling.
