Shirley-Ann Knott
I joined the team as a Private Client Solicitor in early 2020, and I am based at the firm’s Cirencester office, which is a lovely old building with a varied and interesting history.
I qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and I am a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. I specialise in the administration of trusts and estates and all related tax matters (Inheritance, Capital Gains and Income Taxes). I also deal with Wills and older client matters. My main focus is estate administration, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
At the heart of my practice is meeting clients, listening to their concerns and helping them by giving practical guidance and advice. The best outcome is when clients tell me that they feel they have had a weight lifted from their shoulders after our discussions. In writing to clients, I enjoy the challenge of explaining technical matters in straightforward language. I have been delighted when clients have entrusted me with further instructions in other matters or recommended me to their family and friends.
I lived in Singapore for many years and whilst there travelled extensively in South-East Asia. Outside work, I enjoy swimming and aim to get my lengths in before work. I also enjoy choral music and opera, and sing second soprano with Gloucester Choral Society.
