Virtual Employment Law Workshop: Hiring, Firing and Flexible Working

During this interactive webinar, the Employment Team will provide you with effective and practical guidance on some of the key issues to consider when undertaking recruitment, carrying out dismissals and dealing with flexible working requests.

We will also include some pointers around homeworking, as well as an update on what we know so far about the government’s recently announced Job Support Scheme.

I am sure most of us will have seen a significant increase in dismissals, particularly by reason of redundancy, as well as an increase in homeworking as we head into the ‘new normal’. We are also seeing some businesses recruiting more staff, particularly to work on a casual basis during these unprecedented times. All scenarios could see employers increase their risk of discrimination and unfair dismissal claims, which can decrease morale and impact commercial reputation. In this virtual session we will be covering the following key topics to help you limit the risks to your organisations:

  • Avoiding discrimination when recruiting;
  • Key ways to assist in carrying out fair dismissals;
  • Mitigating risks when terminating employment;
  • Hints and Tips on how to effectively deal with flexible working, including homeworking;
  • The Job Support Scheme; and
  • An interactive Q&A Session.
